The end of May and first of June have flown by.
We had some fun but a lot of crazy busy too.
We spent some time in my parents' pool. All three girls got new swimsuits,
Nick surprised Zoey. Her face was full of shock.
Lots of height.
It was chilly, so it took Fiona a little while, but she loved being in her float.
Zoey had an end of the year performance. We could not see her very well from out seats. I know she knew the songs since I heard them all the time, but she was not too focused. :)
Then, Zoey had her last day of school. Here is her first day of Preschool ever, first day this year and last day, which was a water day.
Fun at water day
With her teacher.
She learned so much this year. She had a few bumps, trying to show too much of her leadership skills, but she is ready for Kindergarten.
We also celebrated Sam's end of the year. She had her piano recital. We came from a birthday party and although I had said we would be late, she was left in the place based on her age. So, she rushed in and went right to the piano. She played her first song from the music, but her second (in video) from memory. She worked really hard and is learning a lot. One more year and she is eligble to get a gold cup.
Samantha also had her second grade awards ceremony. I missed the first grade one since I was still in the hospital. It was nice to go. She got tons of awards, but each kid gets to pick on to be announced. She picked her Outstanding Voyager one, which only one girl and one boy per class receive. So proud of this kid! She is an all around super star.
Next year, she will be on the other side of the school where 3rd-5th are, upper elementary. After the awards, they walk across the wood floor to celebrate.
Samantha's last day of school was June 2nd, Fiona's birthday. Sam really wanted me there, so I put Fiona down for a nap and helped at the party. Then back to put Fiona down again, back to school to close out recycling, home again to bake the cake for Fiona, then into work for a meeting, and then home to make dinner. What a crazy day!
Here is Sam with her teacher. She adored her and is so sad to leave her. We are hopeful at least one of the other girls will be in her class one day. An amazing teacher who was perfect for Samantha. She started the year ahead in math, but lacking confidence. She learned a ton of new concepts and picked up confidence too. She also got even better at reading, writing, creativity, science, etc.
And then Fiona. She loves to be outside, especially swinging.
A new trick is if you say, "How big is Fiona?" She will lift her hands as you say, "So big!" She did that and got mac and cheese in her hair and made a bit stand up. I finished the look for a quick picture before her bath.
I feel like I blinked and she turned a year. This year really epitomized the quote, "The days are long, but the years are short." Some days were so rough with a newborn and construction, adjusting to three kids, added work, etc. But it has just flown by.
I did not get a good panda picture; just playing with a ball, sucking her thumb, grabbing the panda, asking for more of whatever Zoey was doing, and trying to get the bow out. Oh well.
Fiona has 4 teeth if you count the slivers at the top. She was eating well, but now is much pickier. She loves pouches, yogurt, snacks, and most things with cheese. Anything else and even some of those is thrown to the floor. She is not really talking, but knows a lot of signs, although some are ambiguous. But she seems to be able to grunt and get what she wants, especially if her sisters are around. She can say words, but does not really use them yet. She cruises really well and will walk if her hands are held or behind things, but is not ready to let go. She is the smallest of the three at a year, only 16.9 lbs and 28.4". Sam was 18.6 lbs and 29.9" and Zoey was 18.8 lbs and 30 in. She loves music, being outside, her sisters, and moving. She is already starting to show touches of a temper. I am guessing she is going to give us a run for her money as a toddler and preschooler. But I am excited to watch her find her voice and become a toddler. I cannot imagine life without this spunky, sweet, ball of energy.
She loved pulling out the tissue paper.
She sampled the cake and then tried to crawl away.
We tried in the high chair.
She asked for water.
See the big piece on the ground, that is what she thought of the smash cake.
This was her favorite present. Samantha got one after she could walk. It was funny, because she would not let anything ride in it. Anything we put in was jerked out. Zoey liked it as well, but we decided not to move it. Fiona got the upgraded version and loves putting things in and taking them out.
