We had a great time with Nick's family. Isabelle, Samantha's cousin, was a real treat and gives us a clue of what we have to look forward to, never a dull moment. We are so glad so many could make it out. A special thanks to Sam's Uncle Jon who flew overnight to stay only one night. But he made it for the baptism, what a trooper. Sam was also quite a trooper. After only making short outings we hauled her all over, and she mostly slept or just chilled in the stroller or car seat. She was also amazingly good for her baptism, including when her head got wet. And when we went back to church last night, she was highlighted and was wonderful when the priest held her up for all to see. Our own little celebrity. Here are some baptism shots and a cute one of Sam and her cousin Isabelle.

More trips and sweet Isabelle
8 weeks old and someplace to go!
We have declared Sam off of quarantine. On Tuesday, we took her to the zoo and then Ga Tech. Nick and Samantha wondered around the zoo and said hi while I did some research. Then we headed to Tech where the staff threw her a welcome party, complete with cake and presents. What a lucky girl she is. Here is Sam getting some love at GT! Thanks so much for the great party.

Tummy time video
Here is the video of Sam during tummy time. Again, not her favorite activity, but she has pretty strong neck muscles and is starting to lift her torso.
Daddy and me
Nick is such a great dad. He really helps out and is so cute with Sam. Here are some great pictures of the two of them together.
In other news, we took Sam to an ear, nose, and throat doctor (ENT or otolaryngologist) and she was diagnosed as being tongue tied (officially ankyloglossia). My mother and brother both had their tongues clipped, but the procedure is much more complicated now. It is an outpatient surgery that requires anaesthesia to administer the local. But the doctor said hers is bad enough that she will most likely need it done and its best to do before her teeth come in. Poor baby!

One month check up
Sam had her one month check up last Thursday. She was actually 5 1/2 weeks, but it was when we could make an appointment. She checked out well. And she is now 10 pounds, 8.5 ounces and 23 inches long. That puts her her at the 90th and 95th percentiles respectively. She already weighs what the average 2 month old does.
The picture of Sam and Nick is when we were waiting and she thought that was a comfortable position.
