Sam had her tongue clipped this morning. She was such a trooper. We thought that she would scream all morning since I had to stop feeding her at 4 am and the procedure was not until 9. But they ended up taking her early and she did not cry at all. She is so wonderful! So here is a picture of her in the mini hospital gown. And a few more cute pictures. The one with the beer bottle is not just because we are such great parents! Nick took a class in which he had to learn a skill and he did beer brewing and took this picture for the presentation.

Sam REALLY goes visiting
So we were going to take Samantha down to Florida to meet her great-grandmother, but my grandmother got a cold. We changed directions and headed to South Carolina to visit my cousin and her family. She has three kids, two sons and one daughter, who was our flower girl. What a difference 6 years makes! The oldest is in college now. Anyway, Sam was a great traveler and we had a lot of fun visiting. Thanks for everything Linda!

Samantha goes visiting
So we have been taking Samantha out more. She got to visit the family I used to babysit for (for 10 years!). They are also the family we had dinner with the night I went into labor. The kids were so cute with Sam. We also took her to my parents for the first time. And then all went to Chili's to eat. Samantha was, of course, perfectly behaved. She is such a laid back baby! We are so lucky!

Our big girl
It is hard to believe that she is almost 3 months old. She still is not loving tummy time. She did roll over on March 18th, but not since then. She prefers to lie there sucking on her hand. But she does travel a lot in her crib. I never know where she will be when I go in. Here is a pciture of her turned on her side. I could not believe it, but she likes to roll that way.

Shop til you drop and the big move
So to know me is to know that I have a, I'll admit it, mild obsession with Target. So after most of Nick's family left last Sunday and he and his brother went to Tech to play basketball, I hit Target with Sam. We did need to pick up her vitamin drops that she was supposed to start taking to make sure she has enough Vitamin D. So here is a picture of her at Target, she did sleep through most of the trip. Also, we had to run by Home Depot today, most likely our second favorite store, at least if you ask American Express :) Here she is on that trip.
Also, Sam had her 2 month checkup at 9 1/2 weeks. She is now 12 lbs, which is the 75 % and 24 1/2 inches long, which is 95%. Everything looked great, but she had to have 4 shots, which was really hard. She started crying when the nurse wiped her leg with the alcohol wipe and cried through it all. She did calm down within 5 minutes, which is why she continues to amaze us with what a wonderful baby she is. But I felt so bad that she must have been thinking that I stood there and let someone stab her 4 times.
The other interesting news is that Sam has graduated to her crib. She is pretty big for the bassinet and she started banging her head into the side. Which of course made her cry, which was very sad. So after a few nights of having to hold my hand along the side while she was still asleep and banging her head, we decided to make the big move. It has been hard, but we have the Angelcare monitor that alarms if she stops moving, so I have a lot of peace of mind that she is safe. Of course, it was not set right the first night and we had several false alarms. Luckily, I was reading in the nursery waiting for her to be sound asleep for the first one so the later ones did not freak me out. She really seems to enjoy all the space (check it out in the picture) and it is a treat to see where she ends up when I go in there for feedings.
