Happy Thanksgiving!

Wow, I cannot believe it is December already!

November was slower than October in terms of events, but we made up for that by getting some rocks delivered (6 cubic yards) and trying to take back our yard.  Lots of weeding, hauling and spreading rocks.

Sam had lots of events at school.  There was a teddy bear picnic, Veterans Day celebration, and thanksgiving feast day.

Here is Sam at Veterans Day singing her heart out!  Papa and Nana got to attend as well since Papa is a Veteran.  They were very impressed.

Here are some shots I got for Zoey for the photo challenge.  I am enjoying relearning photoshop.

And this was a favorite toy, she even slept with it for awhile.  It ended up breaking and being thrown away, but she has moved on.

Zoey and her best friend Nick at a playdate.  So sweet,

A local restaurant had a princess tea party.  Sam walked right up, but Zoey was hesitant.

The girls loved the tea.

Cheers!

Zoey warmed up with storytime and dancing.  She held Ariel's hand for the circle dance.

And gave her a big goodbye hug.

I hosted a Peace playdate for International Peace Day.  The kids made peace doves.  Sam was the oldest one who ended up coming and was very helpful.

Sam had to write about and draw her favorite non American holiday.  She chose Cinco de Mayo.

Sam was also selected to represent her school at a choice school fair.  She did a great job talking to people about Lincoln and STEM.

We had a great week off for Thanksgiving.  We had a playdate at a friend's house and one at our house.  It was supposed to be at our playhouse, but it rained so it had to be inside.

Thanksgiving was wonderful, with a caveat I will get too below.  Nick fried a turkey breast in his beer pot.  We made way too much food, as it should be.

Papa carved it for us.

Unfortunately, the plague hit our house.  Zoey spent the night before Thanksgivng at Nana's and Papa's.  She woke up crying and had a fever.  She said her ear hurt.  We took her to the cvs minute clinic who put her on antibiotics for a ear infection, since she is just 2 and it was red.  She ended up taking a 4 hour nap.  Friday night she had a rash beginning and Sam got a fever as well and complained about her throat.  Zoey's rash spread and Sam's throat got nasty looking bumps.  Both girls have been diagnosed with hand, foot and mouth disease.  Sam is out of school today and tomorrow.  But the girls have been doing pretty well.  The fevers were short lived and they have more energy.

Nick stayed up all night Thanksgiving night to hit black friday sales and get us, among a few other things, a new LED pre-lit Christmas tree.  That tree is up and will be decorated soon.  The girls are getting so excited about Christmas.

We took a few pictures in front of the tree to use for our Christmas cards.  We did not want to go anywhere since both girls were puny.  We got a few good ones.  Here is one that will not be on the card, so it will be a surprise, but it is a super cute one.
