Things continue to be crazy. All three of us have been sick. Nick has sinus stuff, relating to the change of seasons. Sam has been having low grade fever on and off and some tummy issues that set potty training back a bit. But hopefully we will be back on track soon. I have had a low grade fever and a sore throat. What a fun household we are! But we did squeeze in a trip to columbus, oh.
This is actually after we got back, we went to Chick-Fil-A to grab some lunch before we went by Lowes to grab a build kit for the kids project.

This is before we left. We had wanted to go paint pottery, but a fever derailed that plan. I found a kit at Walmart, so an at home pottery painting session.

We did spend some time outside before the weather got yucky. Although Sam refuses to pedal.

Nick was trying to show her how much fun pedaling was.

She tried, but was not really convinced.

We started our trip to Columbus with a nice lunch with a good friend from grad school, Kristin. She was one of my bridesmaids and is now a pediatrician.

We went to the children's museum, called Cosi. Sam loved the water play area.

She also liked being lifted in this pulley demo.

Look at how high she is!

And we got to eat at Krispy Kreme. For all who know Nick, many have heard him say how much he loves Dunkin' Donuts. We have neither in Huntington, just an awful one called Jolly Pirates. Nick and I joke that we should switch careers and open a donut shop in the unhealthiest city. But we did rush to one in Columbus. It was so tasty!

Sam enjoyed mini donuts and juice for breakfast. Both are a rare treat.

So good!

I wanted to prove I was there too. I got an almost warm fresh donut. And Sam also got to watch them being made.

And then we hit the Columbus Zoo. By the way, it snowed 4 inches overnight while we were there. We were not quite prepared for that. So we wasted a bit of time and it warmed up some. The zoo was pretty nice. Very large. Here is there bear exhibit.

Bald Eagles.

They have a 2 year old baby elephant. So cute!

And some baby lions. Also too cute!

Sam really enjoyed herself, even if she had to wear almost everything we brought with us. She thought this snake was cool.

She likes the manatees and sea turtles, too.

And of course, the carousel. It is a restored one from 1914.

You could get pretty close to the penguins.

This is Colo, the first gorilla born in captivity.

And a cute pose. Sun bear.
