Shop til you drop and the big move

So to know me is to know that I have a, I'll admit it, mild obsession with Target. So after most of Nick's family left last Sunday and he and his brother went to Tech to play basketball, I hit Target with Sam. We did need to pick up her vitamin drops that she was supposed to start taking to make sure she has enough Vitamin D. So here is a picture of her at Target, she did sleep through most of the trip. Also, we had to run by Home Depot today, most likely our second favorite store, at least if you ask American Express :) Here she is on that trip.

Also, Sam had her 2 month checkup at 9 1/2 weeks. She is now 12 lbs, which is the 75 % and 24 1/2 inches long, which is 95%. Everything looked great, but she had to have 4 shots, which was really hard. She started crying when the nurse wiped her leg with the alcohol wipe and cried through it all. She did calm down within 5 minutes, which is why she continues to amaze us with what a wonderful baby she is. But I felt so bad that she must have been thinking that I stood there and let someone stab her 4 times.

The other interesting news is that Sam has graduated to her crib. She is pretty big for the bassinet and she started banging her head into the side. Which of course made her cry, which was very sad. So after a few nights of having to hold my hand along the side while she was still asleep and banging her head, we decided to make the big move. It has been hard, but we have the Angelcare monitor that alarms if she stops moving, so I have a lot of peace of mind that she is safe. Of course, it was not set right the first night and we had several false alarms. Luckily, I was reading in the nursery waiting for her to be sound asleep for the first one so the later ones did not freak me out. She really seems to enjoy all the space (check it out in the picture) and it is a treat to see where she ends up when I go in there for feedings.

What a week!

We had a great time with Nick's family. Isabelle, Samantha's cousin, was a real treat and gives us a clue of what we have to look forward to, never a dull moment. We are so glad so many could make it out. A special thanks to Sam's Uncle Jon who flew overnight to stay only one night. But he made it for the baptism, what a trooper. Sam was also quite a trooper. After only making short outings we hauled her all over, and she mostly slept or just chilled in the stroller or car seat. She was also amazingly good for her baptism, including when her head got wet. And when we went back to church last night, she was highlighted and was wonderful when the priest held her up for all to see. Our own little celebrity. Here are some baptism shots and a cute one of Sam and her cousin Isabelle.

More trips and sweet Isabelle

We have been having a great time with Nick's family visiting. Sam has been to FOUR restaurants, the zoo, and the aquarium. Although she slept through the zoo and the aquarium. She has also been getting lots of love from her Grammy and Isabelle, her cousin.

8 weeks old and someplace to go!

We have declared Sam off of quarantine. On Tuesday, we took her to the zoo and then Ga Tech. Nick and Samantha wondered around the zoo and said hi while I did some research. Then we headed to Tech where the staff threw her a welcome party, complete with cake and presents. What a lucky girl she is. Here is Sam getting some love at GT! Thanks so much for the great party.

Happy Good Friday

Here are some more cute photos. If you are wondering what she is looking at, it is the ceiling fan, her favorite object to stare at.

So Sam has started socially smiling, but they do not last too long, so here are our attempts at catching her cute smile. Also, here is Sam dressed up to go to the doctor.
